
Jo McNally Making the UK her home since 1980 Jo has had a
varied career as a music educator, animateur, and singer. She
specializes in conducting young and developing choirs and is
part of the ‘team’ teaching and extending the
choral conducting courses for the Association of British
Choral Directors.
As an animateur she has worked on special projects for the
Education departments of ENO, Royal Opera House, Glyndbourne
and with the BBC Singers.
Ongoing projects include around the country with ‘Sing
Up’ and working with BBC Singers ("Go Sing" and "Play
it again" “I’d do anything”). She is a
sought after clinician throughout the British Isles.
Jo teaches ‘The Art of Choral Direction’ for
Canford Summer Music School. Published works include
‘Young Voiceworks’ (Oxford University Press) and
‘Junior Choral Club’ (Music Sales).
As a singer her work includes including the premieres of
SCIPIO'S DREAM, and HEAVEN ABLAZE both by Judith Weir (Vocem
Eletric Voice Theatre) and recorded for BBC television. Her
varied repertoire includes AFRICAN SANCTUS/ Fanshawe,
GLORIA/Poulenc, and MASS/Bernstein.
